Meet the Author
The author of four books, Josh Tickell has worked on environmental issues for over twenty years. His career spans a unique mixture of science, political activism, investigative journalism and filmmaking. His directorial debut film, ‘FUEL,’ is the 2008 Sundance Audience Award winning documentary that investigates the possible replacement of fossil fuels with renewable energy. For his rescue mission in the aftermath of the Katrina hurricane in Louisiana, Tickell’s nonprofit organization was selected by President Bill Clinton as an… inaugural part of his Global Initiative on Climate Change. As a film director, he has worked with actors such as David Arquette, Woody Harrelson, Amy Smart, Michelle Rodriguez and Peter Fonda, Pierce Brosnan, and Dan Aykroyd. Tickell holds an MFA in film from Florida State University’s Film School. |

Kiss the Ground is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to regenerating soils worldwide. While partially inspired by the Kiss the Ground nonprofit, the Kiss the Ground book was independently researched and written by Josh Tickell who approached Ryland Engelhart about the idea of using the same title and donating 50% of the proceeds of the book back to the nonprofit. The forthcoming Kiss the Ground documentary film is independently produced and directed by Josh and Rebecca Harrell Tickell and Bill and Laurie Berenson with input from the Kiss the Ground nonprofit team. The Kiss the Ground nonprofit is one of the investors in the documentary film.
